The It Can Happen to Me template was designed to help my family in the event something happens to me because I am here to tell you BAD things do happen to GOOD people. I know this all too well from first hand experience.

My daughter has been battling Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (ALCL) for over nine years. With the exception of her oncologist, does anyone else know that she gets three milligrams per square meter of VinBlastine every week to keep her in remission, intravenous immune globulin (IVIG) every six weeks to provide her with antibodies to fight infections, requires premeds before her IVIG so she does not have an allergic reaction, is allergic to Ativan, Dapsone, Decadron, Morphine, Reglan, and Versed or that she has a sensitivity to steri strips and tagaderm?

Do I really want to chance that this information would be forever lost if something happened to me? I am here to tell you I would never take that chance! I have all this information stored in my head, on my Blackberry and on my MAC but my husband doesn't have a Blackberry and rarely uses my MAC so I am confident he could not recite all of the above details. His skill set is simply different than mine.

We are all different, which is why this organizational template is so important for each of us. It is like a snapshot of everything we know that needs to be passed to our family or friends in the event the unexpected happens!
